Searching for a theme Song: Speedminton Championships 2011

Ach, once again i have failed you my faithful readers. i came down with a bit of an illness this last week. a summer flu/cold of sorts. it sucked. who wants to be in bed with a serious headache when you could be out on the beach? exactly. i guess the other problem was that i actually kept on working, so it made the sickness time doubly sha-tay.

while i was gone two things happened one minor and one major. minor: we played a great show on saturday as part of jazz fest. the media club had asked if we could play it acoustic so shawn and i performed a lot of the numbers we'd been playing on our Acoustic Tour in April. thanks to all that came out, we hope you had as much fun as we did. All the acts were stellar, Adaline, haunting beautiful and charming as always. I think the highlight for me was crashing her stage to sing back ups on chemical spill. i love that song. it's so Tori ala Choir Girl Hotel. Yes, i'm that dorky.
the headliner, Kuba Oms definitely a fresh new face on the scene. Him and his band dropped the funky stuff and layed it on real thick if you know what i mean. Cuba explained right away that they were "about to get in the pocket, and it'll be difficult for y'all to stay sitting down". He was correct. there was some serious booty shaking.

Now the major thing that happened. A good friend that i know from my travels in Germany, Basti, contacted me the other day with news of the great sport SPEEDMINTON! I've never heard of this sport but it's pretty obvious to deduce that it's probably just really fast badminton? Basti explains that his faculty is organizing the 2011 world championships of speedminton in Berlin. Basti has requested some form of theme song, and I, of course, am much obliged. I mean what more hilarious theme song could i come up with than one for the, fingers crossed, Speedminton World Championships?!?

My favorite part is that Basti instructs me that he wants something with the dynamic from "Tease" and yet, the chorus of "I'm a Radio". Key words for the project are Champion, Speed, Berlin 2011, Competition, World, friends.

So here i go, I'll let you know what i come up with or any ideas i have along the way. i have....2 weeks.
